{Real Party} Mermaid Party

Is your daughter or a little girl you know in love with Mermaids or Ariel?  This birthday girl was celebrating her fourth birthday and we celebrated with a Mermaid Party.  The color scheme used was monochromatic blue, aqua and white.

The birthday girl looked amazing in her custom top designed by the talented Kristina of Modern Frills.  The top had starfish and bubbles on the lower right front and a starfish on the back with the number 4.  It was gorgeous!  The birthday girls pettiskirt and hair clip were designed by Kim at Tot Shot Boutique.  I love her items!  The final piece to the birthday outfit was the beautiful mermaid pearl necklace made by All That Sass Designs.  The necklace made the outfit!

The printable collection was absolutely beautiful for this party.  It was sophisticated, fun and the colors were beautiful.  TomKat Studios designed this new printable collection for her daughter's mermaid party and I fell in love with it!

All the girls who attended were 'crowned' mermaids with aqua mermaid wands made by Yarah Designs, custom mermaid clip made by Tot Shot Boutique and custom made mermaid bubbles from Oversoul.  The boys who attended were 'crowned' mermen with sea creature sand molds and sea creature squirters.

The sweet table consisted of delicious cupcakes and beautiful cookies that sat on edible pearls by Jessica of  Sweet Hearts Treats.  Jessica is local here in South Florida and does amazing work!  Above the sweet sea table draped a net filled with starfish, sea shells and beautiful pearls.

The activities for the kids consisted of face painting, eating sea ice to keep cool, fishing for fish, touching real sea creatures (turtles, lobsters and live fish) and an amazing performance by no other than Ariel herself!  Ariel, performed by Miss Debbie, put on a stellar performance with all the children.  She entertained the children for over an hour and ended with balloon animals.  She is local to South Florida and is wonderful with all the children.

The party ended with the birthday girl making a wish and opening her gifts from all her wonderful friends.  It was a beautiful party for a very sweet little girl.  Happy Birthday Mermaid Madelynn!

It's Your Lucky Day

Yarah Designs simply loves reading One Charming Party and came accross these fabulous labels for goodie bags that say It’s your lucky day. You can use these on goodies bags for a St Patty's Day celebration or simply set these out on dinner plates on St. Patrick’s Day. All you need is a cellophane bag, double sided tape and whatever you choose to fill it with.  Here is the link to the printable.  Enjoy!

Back To School Bash

How clever is this party theme to get all the kiddos excited for the new school year!?  Yarah Designs found this idea on Brilliant Bash

This event could be approached in two ways:
1) Host the party before shcool actually starts and invite all of your child’s neighbourhood friends

2) Host the party sometime during the first three weeks of school and invite your child’s class.

The pre-September option could be a fun way to say goodbye to summer and to allow your child one last chance to have all of the neighbourhood gang together before the weather turns cold. Alternatively, the second option is a nice way to help your child get acquainted with his or her classmates, and also gives you the opportunity to meet some of the parents.

Tom Kat Studio has just created a new line of back to school printables that will dress up a party like this.

Here is a great idea for dessert from Pen & Paper Flowers!  Ice Cream Apples!  So cute & delicious

Simple food works well for a back to school party theme. Sandwiches, fruit, juice boxes, and some special treats for dessert would be fitting and welcome. You could even have your child decorate plain brown lunch bags for each guest, and place the party meal inside the lunch bags.

And here are some Game ideas!

Pencil Box Game

Fill a pencil box with school items – scissors, pencils, crayons, etc. Show the children the filled box. Leave the room and remove one item. When you return have the children guess what is missing. Replace the missing item and play again. They can take turns removing the items for the game as well.

Show and Tell
Invite your guests to bring pictures (photos or magazine cut-outs) of their favorite summertime activities, a recent family vacation, etc. Set aside time for “Show and Tell,” so everyone can learn what each guest did over the summer.

Certificates of Summer
Before the party, create your own certificates or buy blank awards at a local craft store. Make sure they have a space to write what the award is for, as well as an area to write the child’s name. After everyone has had a chance to share their stories of summer, hold an anonymous vote for special awards. Some ideas: who had the most fun, traveled the farthest, grew the most, got the best hair cut, changed the most (and least), had the funniest experience, etc. Collect the votes, fill out the certificates, and have an awards ceremony.

Enjoy the party!
